Marianne Leitch Breneman, Clarinet
A resident of Cincinnati Ohio, Marianne Leitch Breneman is a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where she earned an Artist Diploma in Clarinet. Ms. Breneman earned her Master of Music in Clarinet from Wayne State University and her Bachelor of Music in Clarinet from Michigan State University.
Ms. Breneman has participated in many summer festivals including Aspen, Banff, The Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music, Le Domaine Forget, The Scotia Festival of Music, The Grandin Chamber Music Festival, and Aria International Summer Academy.
Marianne was a Concerto Competition Winner at Wayne State University where she also received the Detroit Symphony/Wayne State Bradlin Award for Outstanding Orchestral Musician. The Tuesday Musicale of Pontiac (MI) awarded Ms. Breneman the Grand Prize in their annual competition in 1995 and that same year, she was given a scholarship by the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation to further her musical studies. Marianne is also a past winner of the Farmington (MI) Musicale Scholarship Competition.
Ms. Breneman has performed with many ensembles including those at CCM, the Michigan State University Wind Symphony, the Wayne State University Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra, the Warren Symphony, the Farmington Area Philharmonic, the Greater Lansing Symphony, the Southern Great Lakes Symphony, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (substitute). She has presented chamber music and solo recitals in East Lansing (MI), Ann Arbor (MI), Farmington Hills (MI) and Cincinnati and maintains an active teaching studio.
Ms. Breneman was recently appointed second clarinet of the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. She is also an extra musician with the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida.
Ms. Breneman's teachers include Paul Schaller, Ted Oien, Frank Ell, Ron Samuels, Richard Hawley, Ron Aufmann, and Yehuda Gilad.
