   As a graduate of the American Studies program at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), Ed Brenegar learned to identify the broad themes and connections that affect our lives.He then earned a further degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, and did his doctoral work in leadership and ethics at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
   
   Ed's academic background laid the foundation for a professional life of service through community organizations, in higher education, and with church congregations as an ordained Presbyterian minister.He now teaches leadership at the University of North Carolina (Asheville), and works in their community leadership programs.Ed holds that effective leadership is always a product of clear vision, personal initiative, and good relationships.A former columnist for the Asheville Citizen-Times, Ed brought a fresh, inspiring, and constructive voice to the economic, social and political issues affecting people in their local communities.
   
   Ed is the founder of an organizational development consulting firm, Community of Leadership, that focuses on enabling groups to expand their leadership basis through programs in leadership initiative and visionary planning.As a Consulting Fellow with the Morris Institute for Human Values, he embodies an experienced understanding of the practical value that ancient wisdom can have for individuals and their organizations.
