   Connie Brenden has been an active member of STC since 1997, serving as president, vice president, treasurer, and Nominating Committee co-chair. The Puget Sound Chapter won the STC Chapter Pacesetter Award when Brenden served as president. Brenden has a Bachelor of Science in management from Montana State University, a Certificate in Technical Writing and Editing from the University of Washington, and is a vetter for ITC2. She has worked in the aerospace, telecommunications, software, medical software, and financial industries.

   Peggy Jacobson, TCCI owner/President and author of the Experience Certification Exam in Technical Communication for the International Technical Certification Consortium (ITC2), and Connie Brenden, former Puget Sound Chapter (PSC) President, emphasize how complex certification is, and suggest that PSC should reopen discussions about certification.
