JOHN BRAY, Incoming District 18 Director
John Bray is currently President of Affiliated Machinery Inc., one of the Associated Equipment LP companies.Affiliated is located in Pearland, Texas.John has held this position since 1996.
Previously, John was with Associated Welding Supply as the Sales Manager for twelve years.During the ten years prior to that, he was with Associated Equipment Company in the Service Department.
With John's combined employment in the Associated companies and with Staples Welding Machine Repair, he has been in the Welding Industry for over thirty nine years.
John's experience with the American Welding Society started in 1988.He was elected to the Membership Committee of the Houston Section in 1989.For the next eleven years, his duties for the Section ranged from the Membership, Hospitality, and Scholarship Committees to the Executive Board, and finally Past Chairman of the Section in 2000.
In 1993 and 1998 John was the recipient of the Section and District Meritorious Awards, respectively.
When the American Welding Society held its convention in Houston in 1993, he served on the Liaison Committee between AWS and the Houston Section.His assignment was to coordinate the volunteers to man the technical sections during this Convention.
John is beginning his twentieth year as a member of the American Welding Society, during which time he has developed many industry contacts and established many long standing friendships.He looks forward to serving District 18 as Director beginning in January 2008.
