Whisper Bay resident Bobby Branning, however, believes local government needs every dollar it receives.

"My property taxes have gone up, but they are reasonable," said Branning, 66, retired manager of community development for Gulf Power Co."The county has attempted to keep property taxes reasonable.People are under the assumption that local governments have a barrel of money and they don't."

Branning and his wife, Mary, have lived in their home since 1980.

Bobby Branning is Manager of Community Development for Gulf Power Company and has been involved in economic development since 1994.He works closely with all of the individual economic development professionals, chambers of commerce, as well as business and governmental leaders throughout Northwest Florida.Bobby is also very active in numerous regional groups including the Northwest Florida League of Cities, Northwest Florida Association of Chambers, Northwest Florida City-County Managers Association and Florida's Great Northwest.Bobby received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Florida State University.He is a 37-year veteran employee of Gulf Power where he has held positions of Supervisor of Residential and Commercial Marketing, Local Manager, and Manager of Division Marketing.Bobby and his wife, Mary, live in Gulf Breeze, Florida and have two sons.
