Stewart Middle School Assistant Principal Kelvin Branch resigned amid a Tyler Independent School District investigation of a complaint filed against him by a teacher alleging sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct.
Branch resigned Tuesday before completion of the investigation, Cody Cunningham, Tyler ISD's director of communications, said Thursday.

Branch was immediately placed on leave with pay and the district began an investigation of the allegations Friday, Cunningham said.

Branch, formerly associated with Paris Independent School District, was hired by Tyler ISD in 2000 as a social studies teacher at John Tyler High School.He was named assistant principal at Stewart at start of the 2003-04 school year.
