Profiling Jim Boyle, CPA
Starting in this Lagniappe and in future issues, we will profile one LCPA member and the good work he or she is doing in the community.
...
Jim Boyle is a sole practitioner in Covington and a father whose love for his daughter inspired him to take a giant step toward improving the quality of life for other children.
...
Based on that seminar and other information Jim and Jan learned about the "space suit therapy," they traveled from New Orleans to Pontiac, Michigan in May and October of 2002 for the month-long therapy sessions.
...
"After those trips," explained Jim, "Diana could do things we never dreamed of before. She had gained strength, flexibility, and a great many new skills."
"Saving a client money on their taxes is gratifying, but seeing the look on parents' faces as they watch their child walk for the first time is incredible."
Motivated with new hope for their daughter, Jim and his wife were determined to bring the same therapy to their own area's special children."My experiences as a CPA representing physicians in my own practice, combined with having seen the operations of the clinic in Michigan, made me believe that it was possible to open a similar clinic serving the Gulf Coast area," explains Jim.
...
"Having a disabled child affects all aspects of your life," Jim admits."You will never be the same ever again, and your parental role of providing opportunity for your child takes on a new and very different meaning."
Since Jim's practice shares space with NeuroPeds, he feels the CPA profession provides him opportunities he never thought he'd have, among which is seeing disabled children take their first steps."Saving a client money on their taxes is gratifying," he says with a smile, "but seeing the look on parents' faces as they watch their child walk for the first time is incredible."
