Skip Bowman
Skip is a management consultant and organizational psychologist specializing in strategy development, leadership and executive coaching, change management and implementation and learning and development.He combines a high degree of technical expertise (two Masters degrees in Psychology and one in business) with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving that makes sense to decision-makers and people who need things done sooner rather than later.He has consulted extensively to companies in industries including financial, IT, engineering, logistical, resources & mining, retail & B2B sales, retail call centers.
Experience
At global telco Ericsson, Skip worked as a human resources development consultant and later became head of leadership development, designing and delivering team and leadership programs in Denmark and Europe, evaluating organizational culture and managing succession planning and talent management.His leadership training programs were known for their originality and ability to inspire.They also increased managers' ability to reflect and act in real time - a result of Skip's seizing on issues and concerns that arose during the training.
From Ericsson, Skip was appointed head of human resource development at Tryg, the second largest Danish insurer with over 4,000 employees.In this role, he managed twelve HRD consultants and a budget of approximately AUD$7 million.The department was charged with recruitment, training and development (for leadership and teams), career planning, social responsibility and employee welfare.As well as regularly training and coaching executives, Skip was project manager for the reorganization of the entire company based on a process-oriented matrix structure.
After Tryg, Skip began freelance consulting, focusing on change management projects.For example, a global transport company with 9,000 employees worldwide was implementing a major IT investment, so they sought Skip's advice.Quickly grasping the financial, technological and HR-related aspects of this project, Skip designed the training for participants in the project, employing traditional and virtual training methods.
Currently, he is consulting to Skip is currently consulting and conducting training with companies in the financial, industrial, IT, resources and hospitality industries, including retail and B2B sales and customer service.This involves aligning business plans to the corporate strategy and managing the implementation process.He is also running a number of highly successful Leadership programs that help managers create a focused and high-performance workplace.
