Our April Goddess of the Month is Martina Bouey, Boston Program Manager for the Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE).CWE's mission is to empower women to become economically self-sufficient and prosperous through entrepreneurship.Started 10-years ago, CWE has successfully trained over 10,000 women in the diverse facets of entrepreneurship.CWE's comprehensive training has helped thousands of women achieve a higher level of economic self-determination and created 14,000 new jobs in the process.As Program Manager, Martina plays a central role in aligning and delivering educational and other programs tailored to the needs of CWE's clients.

Having grown up in a family of entrepreneurs - Martina's mom, dad and grandmother were all successful entrepreneurs - CWE's mission really resonates with Martina.And she is intensely aware of the major challenges that CWE faces in the future.As Martina explained, "CWE's educational, financing, networking and support services are more critical than ever before.The mega mergers and layoffs that are all part of today's 'new economy' won't be going away any time soon.That's the bad news.The good news is that there are more wonderful opportunities for women entrepreneurs than ever before."Martina added, "One of our biggest concerns at CWE is to try and figure out exactly how our economy is changing and shifting, and to develop just the right mix of resources and delivery mechanisms so our clients can start and build profitable businesses.
