   Lawyers for Preston Perez and both law enforcement offices were in mediation for about 10 hours Aug. 6 before coming up with a figure both sides could agree on , said Larry Boudreaux , Perez's lawyer.

   Boudreaux said Perez's case would have shown that several of the details in the police reports were inaccurate , but declined to give specifics until the case was completely settled.
   
   I have been working on this case for a little over three years , Boudreaux said. But I am not in a position to discuss it at this time..
