   John Bouck Director of Information Technology John Bouck joined the company in 2006. Previously, he was the Director of Informatics at UCB, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Belgium. Earlier in his career he was an Assistant Professor and Director of Bioinformatics at Baylor College of Medicine, where he contributed to the sequencing and publication of the human genome. Dr. Bouck holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Pennsylvania.

   THOUSAND OAKS, CA , Ceres, Inc., a privately-held plant biotechnology company, today announced the appointment of John Bouck to the position of Director of Information Technology. Prior to joining Ceres, Dr. Bouck served as Director of Informatics at UCB, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Belgium. At UCB, he worked for over 5 years in the research department building scientific computing groups across US and European sites. Earlier in his career, Dr. Bouck was an Assistant Professor and Director of Bioinformatics at Baylor College of Medicine where he contributed to the sequencing and publication of the human genome. Dr. Bouck holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Pennsylvania.
   
   The addition of Dr. Bouck comes as Ceres has grown and established itself as a leader in the identification of genes and traits to produce elite crop varieties and hybrids utilizing both proprietary genomics technologies and plant breeding. As Director of Information Technology, Dr. Bouck assumes responsibility for Ceres' IT systems and computational efforts. He will participate as a member of the senior management team in all aspects of the business as the company continues to expand and further demonstrates its superior technology in real world agricultural applications.
