The National Science Foundation (NSF) will award about 900 Graduate Research Fellowships early next year, according to Jeannette Bouchard, manager at Oak Ridge Associated Universities.
Each fellowship lasts for three years and includes a $27,500 stipend along with $10,500 per year as a cost-of-education allowance. The winners will be announced in March 2004.
"Fellowships provide three years of support for graduate study in research-based master's or doctoral degree programs in science, mathematics and engineering fields," Bouchard said.
According to Bouchard, fellowships are intended for individuals in the early stages of their graduate study.
