Jeanne Bouchard, who works in the city's finance department and is president of the Local 1651 Union, said, "Everybody came together, dug deep and did if from the heart."

Jean Bouchard, the president of the Warwick City Municipal Union, echoed Johnston's sentiments.

"I have a sincere understanding of the budgetary concerns that the administration and the council are facing, but at the same time I'm committed to the need for our membership to be afforded the best possibly health care coverage," she said.

With that in mind, she recommends a "more detailed, comprehensive study," than that done by the Cornerstone Group.

Avedisian noted that the committee's membership would include City Personnel Director Oscar Shelton, Deputy Personnel Director Jane Jordan, Assistant City Solicitor Diana Pearson, City Councilman Joseph J. Solomon (D-Ward 4), Public Works Director David Picozzi, Tax Collector and Assessor Ken Mallette, Local 1651 Municipal Union president Jean Bouchard (or her designee), Warren Wright, president of the Firefighters' Union (or his designee), and Peter Johnston, president of the Warwick FOP (or his designee).

Last night, Jean Bouchard, president of Local 1651 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, urged the council members to ratify the contract."We've been considerate whenever we've been to the negotiating table," she said.

Members of the committee will be City Personnel Director Oscar Shelton; Deputy Personnel Director Jane Jordan; Assistant City Solicitor Diana Pearson; Ward 4 Democratic City Councilman Joseph Solomon; Public Works Director David Picozzi; Tax Collector and Assessor Ken Mallette; Municipal Union president Jean Bouchard, president of the Warwick Municipal Employees Union; Warren Wright, president of the firefighters union, and Peter Johnston, president of the police officers union.
