Giselle Bouchard is originally from Barrie, Ontario and currently lives in Ottawa. After completing her B.Sc. in Environmental Biology at the University of Guelph, she did some work for government and non-government organizations monitoring water quality and stream health.
She decided to return to school and recently, completed a Master's Degree at the University of Ottawa in Earth Sciences.
For her master's research she completed two field seasons in the Canadian High Arctic studying water quality and the biodiversity of microscopic algae. While completing her graduate studies Giselle volunteered with the city of Ottawa's Environmental Advisory Committee on work related to sustainable communities.
Giselle is working with the Capacity Development Team of LEAD in the UK in preparation for a European training session on managing shared and fragile resources with a focus on water. Her activities include researching and preparing a case study on Lake Balaton in Hungary and materials development and communication. Her internship is funded by Foreign Affairs Canada and International Trade Canada.
