2005-12-12 - John William Boucha, of Kenora

It is with deep and aching sorrow that the family of John William Boucha announce that he was suddenly taken from us on Monday, December 12th, 2005.John was born in Kenora on September 25, 1942.He was predeceased by his father Charles Sr., brother and sister-in-law Charles and Shirley Boucha and father-in-law Steve Kortz. He leaves to fondly remember his laughter, smiles and love, his mother Margaret; his daughters Patricia (Mike), granddaughters Windfire and Breeze Boucha and granddog Tipper; Liz (Rob), grandchildren Laura and Ian Polischuk; his lifetime partner Dianne Derouin, children Jennifer (Craig), granddaughter Jazmyn and Jeffrey (Kari-Anne); sister Charlotte (Albert) McDonald; nieces and nephews Almer, Leonard, Diane, Theresa, Karen, Kathy, John, Pete, Brad, Bob, Dan, Phil, Steven and Angel and their families, Jason and Scott and their families; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.John was raised at French Portage where he gained his love of the land commercial fishing, trapping, hunting, and berry picking with his family. He spent the last few minutes of his life returning from a successful hunting trip.He moved into Kenora in his late teens where he began a lifetime career and hobby of being a jack of all trades.Carpentry, mechanics, electrical, welding, plumbing, fabricating, construction - you name it and John would find a way to do it.There was nothing that could stump him. Then, at the end of the day, he could cook and bake like a professional - his pies were legendary.John took on the formidable task of raising his two young daughters on his own.He instilled in us his love for the land, our family and friends. He always made sure he was there for us, taking us fishing, hunting, snowmachining and sharing his life and knowledge with us.He later met Dianne with whom he shared a special bond because of their love and friendship.Together, they fulfilled John's desire to travel throughout Canada.John could not sit still. He was always busy fixing or building something or helping someone. His pride and joy were his five grandkids who were always on his mind and in his heart. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them.He was truly happy when he was out fishing or hunting, spending time with family and friends, especially his long time friend Melvin Michalchuk and son Mike. His daughters Pam and Liz used to argue over who was dad's #1 - that all ended when he got Sassy - no doubt about it, she was #1!Wherever you would see John, Sassy his forever faithful companion, was right there.Special thanks to the ambulance crew and the doctors and nurses in Emergency.Cremation has taken place.A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, December 16th at 11;00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of John's Life at the McDonald residence at 56 Ritchie Road following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the War Amps, the Hospital Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice.Forever in our hearts and memories. We miss you dad, grampa, papa, UJ, Smilin' John, JB, John
