   Photo of Neil Bouch The Gateshead Housing Company has appointed Neil Bouch as its new Director of Housing Management.
   
   The company, which was set up in January, to manage over 23,500 of Gateshead Council's homes, is currently embarking on a seven-year programme, that could see over £330m being invested in local homes and housing services by 2010.
   
   Neil, 43, was previously the Housing Services Manager for Gateshead Council, and then from January for the new arms-length company, until he took up his recent appointment.
   
   During his career to date, he has worked for The Tyneside Housing Aid Centre, Manchester City Council, Irwell Valley Housing Association, Home Housing and Johnnie Johnson Housing, totalling over twenty years of experience in local and national housing issues.
   
   His new role will see him managing the housing office network across the borough, the company's Neighbourhood Relations Team, and playing a major part in helping the company to improve the services it offers to tenants and leaseholders prior to a Government inspection this August.
   
   Neil said: "I am delighted to have taken up my new role, which promises to be an exciting and challenging one.
   
   "Hopefully the hard work ahead for us all will see The Gateshead Housing Company getting at least two stars in August's inspection, allowing us then to make a major impact on the lives of thousands of local people in Gateshead."
