   Craig Bott, Esq., Loss Control Consultant with the State of Utah, Division of Risk Management, received his law degree from the University of Utah where he was a William H. Leary Scholar.Mr. Bott is a nationally noted speaker and provides training and practical advice to over 450 State and Local governmental entities and has had numerous articles on civil rights and loss control issues published in various publications.In addition to developing, overseeing and providing training to elected and appointed governmental officials, employees and volunteers on avoiding and managing constitutional and legal liability he provides officials with assistance in understanding and applying statutory and constitutional requirements associated with government service.Mr. Bott is also actively involved in assisting governmental entities in the development of municipal ordinances, training materials and policies and procedures and assisting governmental entities in personnel and citizen-related conflict resolution.Mr. Bott also provides legal defense for governmental entities and officials in State and Federal Court.
   
   Prior to obtaining his law degree, Mr. Bott was an administrative law judge, was extensively involved in the development of personnel policies and procedures for the Utah State Department of Corrections and was a Faculty Member and Instructor for an Administrative Law Seminar sponsored by the National Judicial College, Reno, Nevada,

   Craig Bott of the Utah Local Governments Trust taught the class.He stated it is important in this day and age that an employee becomes sensitive to how their actions and words may be perceived by others in the work place.There is a potential of tremendous liability to the employer.Mr. Bott made some suggestions on what we can do to make sure that our policies and procedures are being followed and understood by the employees.
