   Botkier: Handbag designer Monica Botkier was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She always had an interest in fashion, but entered the profession as a fashion photographer for magazines such as Nylon, Fitness and Seventeen. She was exposed to various handbags while working, but had a strong feeling that something was missing in them. She spent some time searching for a designer bag which focused on style and detail, while being functional enough to allow for easy access and use. The task sounded easy but there was one problem, she could not find the bag she was looking for. So in the
   
   end she decided to design her own ideal bag. Originally this was a selfish endeavor; making handbags just for herself, friends and family. However, soon word spread about her wonderful and unique design and Botkier was inspired to share her masterpiece with the world. Her vision is to create a handbag with great style and long lasting utility. Botkier takes great pride in her bags, and uses the finest leather in her exquisitly detailed creations. We are excited to see what types of masterpieces she will create for us in the future.
