    As VP of the Mediterranean region, Jordi Botifoll is responsible for overseeing all of Cisco System's operations in theregion including: Spain, Portugal, Malta, Cyprus, Greece and Israel.

    Specifically, Botifoll's remit comprises overall leadership for the Mediterranean sales, marketing, systems engineering, support and strategic alliances throughout this region.     Prior to his appointment, Botifoll was Managing Director of Spain & Portugal. Botifoll joined Cisco in 1999 as General Manager of Cisco's Spanish subsidiary. In this role the Spanish business grew more than 100% during his first year. Jordi epitomizes the concept of dual citizenship and has developed integrated country management models for Enterprise, Service Provider, Commercial and Public Sector in Spain and Portugal.

    Thanks to his managing efforts and as recognition of the excellent results, he was promoted to Managing Director for Spain and Portugal in December 2000. In the same year, he received the Best European Manager Award from the President and CEO of the company, John Chambers.

    Prior to joining Cisco Systems, Botifoll was General Manager for the Enterprise Division at Retevision, the second largest Spanish service provider, where he developed the business for voice and data in the business market.

    His previous professional experience started at NCR where he held executive roles in the areas of Marketing and Sales. From NCR he moved to Lotus Development as Chief Operating Officer evolving to Managing Director for Spain and Portugal.

    Jordi Botifoll has a degree in Electronics Engineering from the Escuela Superior de Telecomunicaciones, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

    In the summer of 2002, Jordi Botifoll received the prestigious Masters Degree in the Executive Program of Stanford University (California, U.S.A.). Jordi Botifoll is Vice chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain, Board Director member of AETIC and Member of the Cisco Board Team.

    He participates in multiple Philanthropic projects, some of them related to Oxfam International and Darfur.
