A political newcomer, Mr. Botello has been planning a campaign for Council for some time.A lifelong resident of Bessemer, he holds a business degree from CSU-Pueblo.

He served three years as a juvenile community service coordinator for the Municipal Court and was a charter member of the Bessemer Restorative Justice Project/Community Accountability Board which serves the youth of the area.He has ideas how the city can steer many of the families who rent in the Bessemer area into home ownership utilizing a variety of programs that are in place.He realizes that home ownership breeds pride in property and builds equity.
