   Education Ms. Botein received her B.A. in American Studies from Skidmore College in 1968. She proceeded to the New York University School of Graduate Arts and Sciences, where she earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in American Studies. She received a J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 1983. While at NYU, she was named to the law review and won a Moot Court Merit Award.

   Professional Experience In 1983-84, Ms. Botein served as a law clerk for Chief Judge Constance Baker Motley of the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.

   Ms. Botein has extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions. Ms. Botein has represented major landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions, including the creation of lease forms and the negotiation of leases in all types of markets. She has represented major lenders and owners in mortgage transactions, the acquisition and sale of portfolio properties and litigation matters. Ms. Botein has worked closely with parties involved in substantial real estate assets acquisitions and sales, and advised clients on the management of newly acquired properties.
   
   Publications & Presentations Ms. Botein has extensive experience as a lecturer on real estate matters before several legal groups, including the American Law Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
   
   Memberships Ms. Botein is a member of the State Bar of New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York for which she has served on the Real Property Committee and chaired the subcommittee on leasing.
