    bosworth@futureworks-web.com

Mr. Bosworth has over 35 years of experience in economic and business development. He began his career in 1965 with 12 years in the Foreign Service with the Agency for International Development (AID), working in economic and civic development chiefly in Latin America, with multi-year assignments in Guatemala and Chile as well as tours in Washington DC and extended visits to other countries.

Bio Picture In 1976, Mr. Bosworth left AID to work with the State of Indiana where he served until 1978 as the first director of the Indiana Office of Social Services (IOSS). From 1978 to 1981 he served as Executive Assistant to the Governor of Indiana. His responsibilities included policy analysis and oversight of cabinet agencies in welfare, education, and public health. He developed the state's first program of community-based group homes for disabled persons, designed Indiana's household energy assistance program and supervised a broad reorganization of secondary and post-secondary technical education.

In 1981, Mr. Bosworth became chief operating officer of the Indiana Department of Commerce, where he led the design of a development strategy regarded as one of the most innovative and successful in the United States.

In 1985, Mr. Bosworth left state government to assume the presidency of the Indiana Economic Development Council, Inc., a newly-created, privately incorporated enterprise financed jointly by government and business to plan, coordinate and evaluate all economic development programs in Indiana. In this role, Mr. Bosworth directed long-term development strategy and took the lead in reorganizing the state's technology development, secondary school vocational education, and workforce development systems.

In 1988, Mr. Bosworth became an independent consultant focusing on regional development, strategic planning, industrial modernization, workforce development and the international transfer of development innovations. Here, his research on European strategies of workforce development and economic growth led to several successful projects adapting those models and strategies in the U.S.

In 1992, Mr. Bosworth became a co-founder and partner in Regional Technology Strategies, Inc. (RTS), a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. While a partner with RTS, Mr. Bosworth initiated and directed several projects dealing with industrial modernization, inter-firm cooperation, and workforce development.

In 2000, Mr. Bosworth left RTS to launch FutureWorks.

Mr. Bosworth is a graduate of Dartmouth College and was awarded an AID fellowship for graduate education at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Bosworth has served as a member of the Board of Directors of several organizations, among them the New England Suppliers' Institute, the Indiana Bond Bank, and American Development Finance, Inc. He has served on numerous commissions and task forces and is a frequent speaker on economic and human resources development. He is the author of several publications on economic growth, workforce development, and civic improvement.
