Implementing enterprise resources planning (ERP) helped Eurotherm PLC, Horsham, England, U.K., a manufacturer of industrial process-control equipment, to double its business without increasing overhead. The company also reduced its delivery times by two-thirds and significantly reduced its cycle time.
Eurotherm's legacy business-information system had significant limitations, including : not running on a mainstream operating system, not utilizing a relational database system, and not providing integration throughout the enterprise.Since Eurotherm expected growth in several international locations, the company recognized the need to implement ERP that not only provided an integrated environment, but also was easy to use and customize.
