NEW YORK HEALTH CARE ANNOUNCES THE HIRING OF DR. EILEEN F. BOSTWICK, PH.D. AS DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AT THE BIO BALANCE CORP., THE COMPANY'S WHOLLY-OWNED SUBSIDIARY
Brooklyn, NY - February 10, 2003 - New York Health Care, Inc. (Nasdaq SmallCap: NYHC) today announced that The Bio Balance Corp., ("Bio Balance"), the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, has named Eileen F. Bostwick, Ph.D., as its Director of Research and Development.
Dr. Bostwick will be responsible for research and development affairs at Bio Balance, focusing her initial efforts on working alongside Dr. Robert Hoerr, its Director of Medical and Regulatory Affairs, in assisting Bio Balance with its effort to obtain GRAS approval for its first product offering, PROBACTRIXtm.

Bostwick's experience, which includes the authoring of IND's, the management of the IND process and her specific background in coordinating research and preclincal studies on probiotic ingredients and combination probiotic and prebiotics agents, matches perfectly with our needs.She also brings to Bio Balance her experience working with regulatory agencies at state and federal levels as well her ability in identifying/establishing collaborative research opportunities for the evaluation of biologics and pharmaceuticals, and nutraceutical products."
This is the second time that Dr. Bostwick will team up with Dr. Hoerr.

From July of 1992 until February of 2002, Dr. Bostwick was employed by GalaGen, where she authored and co-authored 4 INDs, and established clinical and research collaborations with leading academic and governmental investigators in the development and evaluation of biopharmaceuticals products for the treatment of AIDS-related and infectious GI diseases.
Dr. Bostwick earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Michigan State University and her Ph.D. in Animal Physiology from the University of Minnesota in 1983.Dr. Bostwick holds four patents and has published numerous articles, presentations and abstracts.
