   Breck Bostwick is the principal of a property tax representation company, Breck Bostwick & Associates, in Austin, Texas. Mr. Bostwick is a licensed senior property tax consultant with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. He began his career in property taxation with the Governor's Office of Education Resources on the first statewide property tax study conducted in Texas. He continued with the School Tax Assessment Practices Board and later, with the Texas State Property Tax Board, where he last served as Director of Valuations. His primary responsibility in that position was the annual Property Value Study, which is still used as the basis for the distribution of state funds for public education. He left the State in 1986 to join Real Estate Tax Services, a nationwide property tax consulting firm, where he served as Vice President and Manager of the Austin office. Mr. Bostwick became a Senior Manager with Deloitte & Touche and its leader of the Austin Commercial Practice after it acquired RETS. He started his own company in December, 2001. He is a past president of the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals and served as their Legislative Committee chair for 14 years. He received his B.A. degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin. He focuses on handling difficult and complex commercial property tax problems. He routinely represents the owners of hotels, office buildings, apartments, retail stores and other businesses in challenging their Texas property tax assessments. He is a frequent speaker at property tax seminars and conferences, including the Texas A & M Legal Seminar on Property Taxation.
