   Raritan Bay Medical Center's John Boston, RN, received the Friends' Health Connection Frances Black Humanitarian Award in Healthcare. The award recognizes individuals from New Jersey and New York hospitals and healthcare facilities who are extraordinary inspirations to others. Boston has worked in RBMC's Crisis Stabilization Unit as a Registered Nurse for ten years. Previously, he worked for 14 years at a state developmental center for mentally disabled children and cultivated an interest in behavioral health. At RBMC, Boston had been instrumental in making therapeutic interventions to enable patients to overcome obstacles and face life more positively. Boston is highly respected for his clinical expertise and unique ability to relate to patients and family members who are in the midst of a crisis. John is a member of the Nursing Recruitment and Retention Committee and participates in job fairs to encourage others, especially males and minorities, to pursue a career in nursing. He also serves his community as a multiple sports coach for neighborhood children and serves as a "Big Brother" for his church in Rahway.
