Company President Alan Bostick said the expansion will allow the dog food manufacturer to begin making dog biscuits.
He said the 40-50 new jobs will become available in the next six months.
Bostick said the expansion was a two-phase operation. He said the first phase was to add a line that makes soft and chewy dog treats.A part of that operation is already up and running.
"The next phase will be the dog biscuit line," Bostick said."We've purchased the equipment, and we hope to have it installed and up and running sometime in April."
Bostick said the company will be making biscuits for it's own Pet Life Brand as well as a variety of private brands.
The company, which produces dry dog and cat food, added a 10,000-square-foot addition to the facility for the new line.
Logan said the new dog biscuit line will produce approximately five truckloads of product per day.
"This (expansion) is a testament to Alan (Bostick) and Sunshine Mills.
