In 2002 the VFIC celebrated our 50th anniversary and honored Lea Booth for his leadership during the VFIC's first 30 years. Lea's marvelous "Virginia gentleman" sense of humor, his letters that engage the written word, and his enthusiastic and outgoing personality have made him friends across the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond. Lea remained committed to the VFIC until his passing. In February 2006, he and his wife attended the VFIC's 2006 Ethics Bowl reception at Lynchburg College.
The LEA BOOTH SCHOLARSHIP FUND, established in 2000, provides financial assistance to students at each of our 15 colleges and universities. If you would like to contribute to this fund in Lea Booth's memory, please contact the VFIC.
Lea Booth was a graduate of Washington and Lee University, Class of 1940,
and held honorary degrees from: Emory & Henry College, Hampden-Sydney College and Lynchburg College.
