Professor David Bogle, CPSE Deputy Director Professor Bogle is a Chemical Engineering professor at University College London, Head of the Computer Aided Process Engineering Research Group in the Department of Chemical Engineering at UCL, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Process Systems Engineering.He undertakes research and teaching in process modelling, design, optimisation and control of chemical processes.His contributions have been numerical techniques for process design particularly developing generic methods for large problems and for finding the globally optimum solution, the analysis of the controllability of chemical manufacturing systems, and on developing techniques for the special methods for the design and synthesis of pharmaceutical and biochemical processes.He has over 100 publications and has given several keynote lectures including one at the 13 th ESCAPE conference in 2003.Recently he has been more involved in modelling of biological and physiological systems through CoMPLEX at UCL.He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and a member of its Governing Council.He is Chair of the Institution"s Computer Aided Process Engineering Subject Group and a member of the College of Engineering of the EPSRC.
