Pastor Clay Bogle, director of community life for Hillvue Heights Church, said the church has been involved in Thanksgiving Day lunches since the early 1990s.

"We're working with Teresa's Restaurant, where we will prepare a traditional meal for those who want to come and eat," Bogle said."The lunch is for people in the community who can't provide for their family, who are lonely or depressed during the holiday season."

Bogle said the lunch is funded through the church.

"People in the church volunteer to provide vegetables, bread and any goods we might need," Bogle said.

Courtyard Cafe also got involved in the holiday spirit by not only inviting the homeless, but also law officers and firemen who had to work Thursday.
