Lake Boggan believes in the basics.She also likens marketing your book to preparing a great recipe for your favorite dish: when fresh, new ingredients are available, you should use them.She will share what's tried and true in the book marketing business, and add pointers about blogging and getting linked on the internet.

Lake will share a bundle of information that will serve you well before your book is published (your "marketing platform"), during the season of your book (when it's a "new release"), and after your window of time has closed (and you're on the "backlist").

Lake Boggan has sixteen years of book selling and book marketing experience.She is currently Publicity Manager in the marketing department for Timber Press.She taught Book Marketing and Promotion for five years at Portland State University's Center for Excellence in Writing, in the Ooligan Press Graduate Publishing Program.

Lake's love for the written word and books reaches back to a childhood filled with poetry, music, and the oral storytelling of her father and grandparents.She has always known it would be her role and responsibility to write the family fables down so their heritage would continue long into the future.Lake is a published poet, and has had many short stories and essays published as well.

Lake Boggan has 16 years of book selling and book marketing experience.She is currently a member of the marketing department of Timber Press.She is also an adjunct professor at Portland State University's Center for Excellence in Writing, in the Ooligan Press Graduate Publishing Program.She includes stints with Graphic Arts Center Publishing Company and Beyond Words Publishing in her resume.

She is a published poet and has had many short stories and essays published in her lifetime.In April 2005, she participated in Wordstock, Portland's landmark book festival and is a regular speaker at Whidbey Island Writers Association.Ms. Boggan, a native Coloradoan, now resides in Portland because she loves the rain, is passionate about the bountiful growing season, and enjoys access to some of the world's most spectacular coastline.
