Peter Bloch, the interim chief executive officer of the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, insisted that "Life isn't all bad around here."

"We have lots of vibrant activities within the organizations and congregations, and the federation has several hundred volunteers," he said, noting that the federation annually raises $6 million."It isn't as though we are dead in the water. ...There is no Jewish neighborhood like there used to be, but it's not a fractured Jewish community; it's a dispersed community."

Bloch said he would rather not dwell on the past but work to make changes for the future.
