   The campaign was publicly announced at the Community Chai Celebration dinner May 18 by Temple President Frederic Bloch, who also told the audience of 375 that an initial $1.5 million had already been pledged, representing 60% of the overall goal. A mock check for that amount presented to Rabbi Sirkman at the dinner noted in the "memo" section "This one's for you, JJS."
   
   Rabbi Sirkman receiving a check to launch Torah U'mada Campaign "Our efforts to solidify and improve all our educational offerings in this community are very much related to our rabbi's 18 th -year anniversary with Larchmont Temple," Bloch noted, "because now we are looking forward to Rabbi Sirkman's next 18 years and we need to ensure that we have an institution that has the resources required for him to fulfill his vision for greatness right here in this little part of the world."
