   Diane Bloch is the Advisor Professional Development Coordinator for the New Teacher Project. After having taught for 7 years as a bilingual elementary teacher, Diane joined the New Teacher Project where she supports elementary bilingual and SEI teachers in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District. Before joining the project, Diane was a Language Arts Mentor for PVUSD and presented workshops statewide on English Language Development and Transitional Reading. Diane has focused her work with the NTP on supporting teachers of second language learners. A trainer of trainers on issues of equity in the classroom, Diane trains teacher-leaders all around the state, as well as coordinating local teacher trainings for the NTP. Diane also facilitates a Teacher Dialogue and Inquiry Group for the Central California Writing Project focusing the practice of teaching writing. For the past two years Diane has also been one of the coordinators of the English Language Learners' Institute, a joint effort of UCSC, PVUSD, the NTP and the NTC.
