Patrick Blizzard, is a native of Columbia, SC and graduate of Richland Northeast High School and joins the Band of Blue staff as Instructor of Percussion.

Upon graduating from Northeast, Mr. Blizzard went and worked at RNE for one season.In the 2003 marching season, he was the percussion instructor for Batesburg-Leesville High School.In 2004 Mr. Blizzard was percussion instructor for BrookLand-Cayce High School.This past season he served as percussion instructor for the 2A State runner-up Gilbert High School.Along with fall marching band, Mr. Blizzard has worked with many different indoor drumlines including Lexington HS, Newberry HS, and Gilbert HS.

Mr. Blizzard is attending the University of South Carolina were he is finishing up his BM degree in Music Education.While at USC he performed with the USC Marching Band, where he was the bass drum section leader for 2 seasons.

Other groups Mr. Blizzard performed with include the USC Symphony Orchestra, USC Concert Band, which was the featured performer at the 2004 SCMEA Convention, and the USC Percussion Ensemble, which was the featured performer at the 2004 SC Day of Percussion, and also the USC Steel Band. Mr. Blizzard also was a member of Carolina Thunder Indoor Percussion Ensemble for two seasons both years finishing 5th in the world in Independent World Class of WGI.Most recently he marched bass drum and was the bass captain at Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, who finished 2nd in percussion in Div. 2, and as a corps finished 4th in Div. 2Mr. Blizzard is a member of the Percussive Arts Society, Phi Boota Roota: the national college drumline fraternity, and SCMEA.

When he is not teaching or performing, Mr. Blizzard enjoys playing golf, going to the beach, listening to classical music, and just relaxing.
