Karen Blizzard - SecretaryKaren is Publications and Graphics Coordinator at the Texas Lottery Commission, where she leads strategic planning and coordinates the development of agency print and Web publications.She has worked as a writer/editor for UT Austin's Charles A. Dana Center, Holt, Rinehart & Winston, Inc., American Way, and Harper's Magazine.Karen holds a B.A. in the Plan II Liberal Arts Program and an M.M. in Ethnomusicology from UT Austin.In the 1990s she directed the UT Brazilian Ensemble and co-founded the Brazilian carnival association, The Purple Martins.In the 1980s she performed as a classical vocalist with New York City chamber groups and, prior to that, managed the Austin Choral Union.Karen is a native Austinite and regular swimmer at Barton Springs, and spoke at the all-night hearing against the Barton Creek PUD.
