Jacqueline BlixJacqueline Blix spent nine years in sales and marketing for AT & T before earning a doctorate in Communications (mass media and journalism) at the University of Washington.Her research has focused on media as community and images of family and gender in mass media.She now serves on the board of the Pacific Northwest Needle Arts Guild, volunteers in a number of local organizations, and grows bodacious vegetables.She is a quilting and knitting enthusiast, gifting both friends and relatives with her latest creations.She also speaks and conducts workshops based her book Getting a Life: Strategies for Simple Living Based on the Revolutionary Program for Financial Freedom Your Money or Your Life.Blix lives in Seattle with her husband and coauthor David Heimiller.The couple has donated 97 percent of the net proceeds of their book to the New Road Map Foundation in Seattle
