Fr. Robert Bliven, OSC, was born Feb. 4, 1930, in Grand Forks, N.D. He went to high school and junior college at the Crosier Seminary in Onamia, Minn. He completed college and theology seminary at the Crosier House of Studies in Fort Wayne, Ind., and was ordained for the Crosier fathers and brothers (or the Canons Regular of the Order of the Holy Cross) on May 26, 1956.
Fr. Bliven served as pastor and associate pastor in Minnesota from 1971-1983, in the Development Office at the Crosier Monastery in Hastings, Neb., from 1983-1985 and in administration at Crosier Seminary Prep in Onamia, Minn., from 1985-1988. In 1988, he was assigned to St. James Parish in Glendale as associate pastor and has served in that capacity at St. Paul, St. Thomas the Apostle and St. Jerome. He is currently serving as associate pastor at St. Louis the King in Glendale.
Upon his retirement in July, Fr. Bliven will live in residence with the Crosier fathers and brothers in Phoenix.
