At the September STC Canada West Coast program meeting, Richard Blitz of Intuit Canada discussed user-centric design tools such as site visits, concept analysis, needs-based design, prototyping, and usability testing, and described how Intuit uses them and where information designers fit into the process.
About our Speaker
After his parents talked him out of becoming a doctor, Richard Blitz studied journalism and worked as a reporter and associate producer for CBC Radio. He turned to information design in 1997. After joining Intuit in 1998, he rose to lead the team developing user assistance for the Canadian and UK versions of QuickBooks, a best-selling accounting software package. In 2001, Richard discovered the principles of user-centric design, and it rapidly became a passion for him. Richard completed an MBA in August of 2006 and has been a member of the STC for more than 10 years. -
