New Brunswick's Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJ) in New Brunswick has named Gil Blitz its new board chairman.
Blitz, a Morris Township resident and senior vice president with UBS Financial Services, has been a member of the hospital board since 1990.He previously served on the board of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton.
Blitz and his family are deeply rooted in the hospital.His wife served as president of the RWJ Hospital Auxiliary.Two of the couple's children worked as volunteers in the hospital's gift shop.Blitz's father-in-law was also a RWJ board member and former chairman of the board, and currently serves on the board of the RWJ University Hospital Foundation.
"Gil Blitz brings expertise in business, a thorough knowledge of the hospital and a deep commitment to the local community and region," said hospital CEO Dr. Clifton R. Lacy, who was recently ranked one of the country's 50 most powerful hospital executives by Modern Physician magazine.
