   Gerard Blitz was a student of Krishnamurti and at that time he became a student of Desikachar. Blitz also had founded the European Union of Nationally Federated Yoga Teachers. In each country in Europe the yoga schools are in a nationally federated union. This European Union is the federation of all the nationally federated yoga groups and they have a large conference each year. So in 1963, when Desikachar came to this conference, he was introduced as the teacher of J. krishnamurti; and there were many, many people who were disciples of Krisnamurti who were anxious to meet and learn from Desikachar. That is how Desikachar got his start in Europe, through Krishnamurti and Gerard Blitz of the Club Med, and his work has grown immensely since then.
