   "That hurt," said GM Mike Bliss, "we were already shorthanded & to lose more players was not what we needed."

We are heading into the most important time of the year, the time when the team needs to gel, & it's frustrating that some players still don't come to compete as a team." The Flyers got out to a quick start & led 2-0 early but fell into the same old habits. "We thought we were the greatest - the players started to treat the game like afternoon shinny & everyone tried to make the 'fancy play' all by themselves," says Bliss, "It was very selfish & we definitely got what we deserved."

   "We were sure a sorry bunch," said GM Bliss "but it shows the commitment of those players that were on that bus & gave their all." The partial team kept it close for 2 periods, never leading the game but only a lucky bounce or 2 from tying the game. But those lucky bounces never came & eventually the much heatlhier Southern Express took control & won the game 10-3. "We simply just ran out of steam," said Bliss "the guys that came did as much as they could.

   With team founder/creator Errol Barr leaving the team for a brand new job south of the border in Las Vegas, the Flyers have moved Assistant GM Mike Bliss up to the GM position. "Most of the hard work has been done" says Bliss, "we now need to concentrate on finishing the season strong & making the playoffs.
