Robert Blinn, the former executive director of medical staff development at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center, filed a lawsuit against his old employer in Gage County District Court Thursday, alleging he was fraudulently induced to believe he would be on the hospital's payroll for another five years.
Blinn's 10-year employment at BCHHC was terminated on Feb. 13. The suit, alleging breach of contract, asks for damages of lost income in the amount of $435,864 for five years' pay and lost benefits.
Court documents filed Thursday state that in June 2002, Blinn was approached by Central Kansas Medical Center of Great Bend, Kan., and offered a similar position with that hospital. Seeking job security, Blinn subsequently informed BCHHC administration that he was considering taking the job in Kansas and offered to resign his post at BCHHC.
