    In November of 2006, Blewitt became Lenoir-Rhyne's first-ever Director of Soccer and is now the Head Coach of the Men's and Women's Soccer Teams at L-R.

    Meanwhile, Adrian Blewitt has made an immediate impact after two seasons at the helm of the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Program.

    In his second season in 2006, Blewitt led the Bears to their best year in school history.Lenoir-Rhyne finished the season with a 19-1-1 mark and a No. 5 national ranking in NCAA Division II.L-R, which set numerous school records including goals and points, also won the third Food Lion SAC Tournament in school history.

    The Bears, the top-seeded team in the Appalachian Region last year, advanced all the way to the regional finals.

    For his accomplishments, Blewitt earned 2006 South Atlantic Conference and NSCAA/adidas Appalachian Region Coach-Of-The-Year honors.

    Blewitt guided the team to one of its best years in school history (13-7-2) on its way to its first-ever Top 25 National Ranking in NCAA Division II early in the season in his first year in 2005.

    Blewitt now carries a 32-8-3 mark as Bear mentor into the 2007 season.

    Hired in November of 2004, Blewitt came to the Hickory, N.C., school after coaching the past three seasons (2002-04) at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C. Blewitt led the Bobcats to a 43-17-1 record over those three years and captured in 2002 and 2003 Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference Championships.His 2002 squad finished the year 17-4 and was ranked 21st in the final NCAA Division II rankings, the highest in school history.

    Prior to Lees-McRae, Blewitt coached five years (1997-01) at Methodist College in Fayetteville, N.C. , and was an assistant at Lock Haven University ) Pennsylvania ) from 1994 to 1996.

    Including his 35-54-1 mark while at Methodist, Blewitt's career coaching record is 110-79-5 entering the 2006 campaign.

    Blewitt, a 1994 graduate of Lock Haven, has also been a part of the North Carolina and Virginia Olympic Development Program Coaching staffs and is a member of the National Soccer Coaches of America Association and the United States Soccer Federation.

    As a player for Lock Haven, Blewitt was selected to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference First Team all four years and was named league defensive MVP as a senior in 2003.Blewitt also led the squad to two league tournament titles (1990 and 1991) and the captained the Bald Eagles to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in 1992.

    Blewitt earned his master's degree from Lock Haven in 1996 as well and is licensed by the NSCAA, USSF and English Football Association.

    Blewitt and his wife, Tami, are the proud parents of one daughter: JoElle.

    Blewitt resigns as Methodist soccer coach

    Adrian Blewitt is leaving the Methodist College men's soccer program to accept a similar position at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk.

    Blewitt resigned on Tuesday, ending a five-year run in which the Monarchs had a 35-55 record.He'll inherit a team that finished 18-3 this season at Lees-McRae, an NCAA Division II program.

    "My five years at Methodist have been a great source of experience and have definitely made me a better soccer coach,'' Blewitt said."I feel that I am well-prepared for the opportunity ahead at Lees-McRae.''

    Blewitt directed the Monarchs to an 8-9 finish this season and 4-3 mark in the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
