Grow up in Jersey Shore, Pa. worked as a volunteer firefighter with Independent Hose Co. for 21 yrs. Worked Hurricane Katrina with FEMA, then moved to Richmond to work with the Va Dept. of Corrections.

   Jersey Shore also prepared for the possible evacuation of more than a dozen families along North Main Street, according to Mike Bletz, chief of the Independent Hose Co. He said another estimated 40 Piatt Township families may be forced to leave their mobile homes at the Riverdale Trailer Park along Old Route 220 if the Susquehanna River overflows its banks. The Wheeland Center across from Citizen's Hose Co. in Jersey Shore will be used as a temporary evacuation center if necessary, Bletz said.

   The car was traveling west on River Road in Porter Township about 6:40 p.m. when it hit a tree and went down an embankment into the creek, according to Fire Chief Mike Bletz of the Independent Hose Co.

   Mike Bletz, Chief for Independent Hose Company, thanked the supervisors for allowing the extra time for the review of the agreement. Since there have not been any accidents in Watson Township that Independent Hose Company has had to respond to this winter, appreciation was expressed for keeping the roads in very good condition. Mike Bletz also reported that Jersey Shore Borough is going to be purchasing imaging cameras for the company's use.
