   Freya is a full time working mother of 3 children under 11 (I know we can't believe she looks so wrinkle free too….!) Freya has also been married to Steve for the last 10 years - he's from Wales, but then we all have our cross to bear. (Only kidding…before we get a visit from Rebecca's Daughters.)
   
   It was Freya who founded the company Homefinder UK Ltd and it all started when the couple first got married and found they couldn't afford to live near their parents - so they bought an old miner's cottage in the Rhondda Valley and set about extending it and renovating. Once they did this they sold it at a profit and put the money towards a bigger and better house in Coity, Bridgend. They did this another couple of times until they had amassed enough money to return back to Yorkshire and set up Homefinder UK as a limited company. At first Freya ran the company single handed as Steve still held a full time position but in time he gave up his day job and started working "for the missus" as he puts it!

   This has not been an easy process by any stretch of the imagination - we hand over to Freya to explain why…

   Both Freya and Steve can be seen at any number of fundraising events held around the two areas and Freya often undertakes to do visits to schools or individuals looking to secure funds to equipment ranging from wheelchairs, beds and hoists to taillift coaches and extentions to properties for adaptations for wheelchairs etc.
   
   As well as undertanding charity work, Freya also "does the rounds" of speaking at various events and workshops. Within the first month of 2006 she has already arranged to speak about franchising to the women at the WiRE Conference in Harrogate in February, she will be holding a 2 hour workshop for the premier Yorkshire Forward networking group Forward Ladies in March at Leeds entitled "Using technology in your business without fear" and finally she is in talks to do a further speech to a major woman's network based in London. This stems from Freya's firm belief in passing on information and mentoring…there is a firm ethos within the company which stems from both the Bletsoes that there should a culture of growth and encouragement from all aspects and this naturally filters down in Freya's presentations - making them both passionate, lively and informative. All this and an e-book in the pipeline, we just don't know quite where she finds the time or energy!
   
   On a more personal basis Freya has a strange perversion for classic VW's (aircooled) and was the founder of the South Wales VW Club Airdiction - which is still going and growing today. She also has a love of all things horticulture, having in the past had an allotment as well as now spending early summer mornings wandering around her garden with a cuppa char weeding and cherishing the quite! It has often been muted that Freya is either the secret love child of Alan Titchmarsh or is a 76 year old man trapped in a young woman's body (Every 76 year old man's idea of bliss we've no doubt!)

   Freya also has a number of other passions including, high heeled shoes (she can run very fast in them too apparently!) food (of any sort!) travelling, sport, Earl Grey tea and baths.
   
   Her dislikes include, little hitlers who really don't have a clue, sticky carpets (Yuk!) house work of any sort, "cawfee", uneven pavements and pot holes (especially when taxes are so high she says!) and whingers of any variety.
   
   Freya also comes from a long history of entrepeneurs so it's hardly suprising she has gone into business for her self. Her father owned his own dyestuffs and chemicals firm before retirement, and her paternal grandfather was a master dyer who was responsible for finding the chemical equation which makes dye colours stick to nylons (he is apparently responsible for the different coloured nylon stockings we happily see today) Her grandfather's brother was the founder of the Spar cornershops in Britain (indeed the S in Spar stands for Sykes, Freya's maiden name) and her Grandmother's brother was the founder of Riley's toffees. Her Godfather is also a member of the Fox family of Fox's biscuits fame. So with all these influences in her life from an early age is it any wonder Freya wan't to set up her own company!! Freya is also rumoured to be related to Donald Trump by marriage, thanks to a link to Stornoway in Scotland…how true this is is anyone's guess - but the rumour involves an elderly great aunt's cousin who is the mother of Mr T…a tenuous link at best!!
