   "Having Carol as a mentor and having her help us with vision has helped give us focus," said Donna Bleskin, the coordinator of MOPS. "Carol, convinced that many more women would benefit greatly from this ministry, began praying we would reach 100 women by the end of the year, a goal the steering team thought might not be attainable, especially since the group didn't have a children's ministry leader," Donna said.

   The church has room for the children, but we need more helpers to continue to grow, Donna said. The ministry, which allows mothers a break from caring for their little ones, has about a 2-to-1 ratio of children to mothers. Donna also believes a great deal of the success of the past year was having so many people involved in leadership. Going into the next year, she has 28 women lined up to help with the program. "In general, women come because there is a felt need in their life. If and when that need is met, they often decide to help meet that need for someone else," Donna said. It is all part of God's master plan to give back, she added.

   "After our Tea and Treasures meeting this spring, several women indicated they wanted to discuss their spiritual life more with the speakers, join a Bible study or recommit their lives to Christ," Donna said.
