Rich Blenkinsopp - Trumpet, Engineering/Production
Rich is a Music Technology Specialist at Memorial University's School of Music where he oversees recording and communication technologies for the School.He has worked as recording engineer on numerous projects with Brian Way, Melanie Krueger, Duo Concertante, Jonathan Monro, Andrew Pike, Tom Gordon, The Scruncheons as well as many Music School performance faculty.He has also engineered and overseen live sound production for many groups and individuals from guitarist Don Ross to an 18 piece big band.He originates from England, where he performed for around ten years with a three piece horn section called the Southside Horns.They performed primarily with funk band Big Night Out and its numerous predecessors (starting as rock band Reason To Be, through soul band Shenanigan and to funk band Big Night Out).They also performed with numerous other soul, funk and blues outfits around the Bristol area.He now spends most of his musical time with Funky Dory and Jazz East Big Band.He has also performed as lead trumpet with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra/Big Band, Kelly-Ann Evans, Celebration Gospel, Hey Rosetta!, Billy and the Bruisers, Jazz Express, MUN Jazz Ensemble and in TaDa Events musical shows Chicago, Our Diva's Do Christmas and Cats.
