   Peter Blenkinsop is an associate* in the Washington, DC office of Gardner Carton & Douglas LLP. Mr. Blenkinsop joined GCD in 1999 as a policy analyst. He became an associate in 2006. His practice focuses on food and drug law, information management and privacy, and international regulatory compliance. He also assists in the management of several special-purpose industry consortia.
   
   As a member of GCD's Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical practice groups, Mr. Blenkinsop has assisted clients in addressing a range of policy issues related to medical product R&D and sales and marketing. Many of these projects have involved the development and implementation of legislative, regulatory, and media strategies, and they have related to a diverse range of matters, including biosecurity, human subject protections, drug product approvals, and drug labeling/advertising. He has represented clients before health and environment regulators in the United States and European Union and at international treaty negotiations under the Montreal and Kyoto Protocols.
   
   Mr. Blenkinsop also advises companies on compliance issues raised by HIPAA, COPPA, the CAN-SPAM Act, the Junk Fax Prevention Act, and other federal, state, and international privacy laws. He assists clients in identifying privacy risks and developing information management strategies. He has drafted contractual agreements concerning data uses and privacy, developed privacy policies and operating procedures, and drafted privacy notices and consents.
   
   Mr. Blenkinsop received a J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in February 2006 and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He is a former Associate Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. Mr. Blenkinsop received his B.A., cum laude, from Yale University, where he graduated with distinction both in Economics and in East Asian Studies and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
