Richard M. Bleile BARAGA - Richard M. Bleile, 68, of Baraga, passed away peacefully at his home May 6, 2003, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Libertyville, Ill. on November 11, 1934, son of the late Carl and Lydia (Niemeyer) Bleile. Richard graduated in 1952 from Arlington Heights, Ill. High School. On August 15, 1953, he married the former Shirley Kunick in Baraga. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Richard was co-owner, with Ed and Elsie Moilanen, of Lakeview Lumber and Hardware in L'Anse for 21 years.

Richard was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Baraga, former member of the L'Anse Lion's Club and served on the Baraga School Board for a few years. He enjoyed going to hunting camp, deer hunting and golfing. Richard also enjoyed watching football and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He had a special interest in remodeling and was a capable carpenter.
